A-E Electronics participated in the PROBA3 project, developed by the European Space Agency (ESA), with design and production of electronic subassemblies for the satellite system studying the solar corona. More information about PROBA 3 mission can be found here. Through a sophisticated flight in a controlled formation on a millimetre scale, the two ESA satellites that make up Proba-3 have achieved what was previously an "impossible space mission": creating an artificial solar eclipse by blocking the Sun's fiery disk and casting a shadow with great precision from one satellite to the other. This helps scientists observe the Sun's ghostly atmosphere, the corona, over an extended period. |
